OBJECTIVES

The purpose of the system is to inspect or monitor hazards such as heavy metals, shellfish poison, food poison, or antibiotics under the permitted standards designated by under the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and the Food Sanitation act to improve the quality of fishery products and secure safety in consumption

TARGET AND THE ANALYTICAL ITEMS

Targets
Mainly domestic fishery products in production, storage, and before trade, water, farms, or materials used for the production of fishery products
Analytical items
① heavy metals (mercury, lead, cadmium)

② Antibiotic substances (Oxytetracycline, Spiramycin, Chloramphenicol, Oxolinic acid etc)

③ Food poisoning bacteria(Vibrio parahaemolyticus), shellfish toxin (paralytic shellfish poisoning), puffer fish poison, malachite green, etc.

VIOLATION

If the hazards of the products are beyond the standard, the officer notify the violation in writing to the producers, keepers, or shippers; if the product is in the production, the officer order the improvement of water, farms, or materials and the prohibition of the uses, shipping delay, change of use, disposal
The producer, keeper, or shipper must take the corresponding measures.

FOLLOW-UP MANAGEMENT

Regular investigations 'checkings' registered facilities
: Twice a year (once a year for the vessel)
