Country of origin labelling went into effect on July 1991 to pursuit a fair
trade and help consumers make informed choices.
① Domestic fishery products except articles caught in open oceans products are indicated as "Made in Korea", "Inshore Product" or the name of city, town, or sea if necessary.
② The products caught by authorized deep sea fishing vessels among domestic fishery products, are indicated as "Offshore Product" (the name of waters or the competent countries).
③ Imported fishery products or the processed products are indicated as the name of the importing country.
① In case of packing, printing on the package or attaching stickers or labels
② In case of unpacking, indicating with signs or tags
① All fishery products and the processed fishery product except non-edible ports
Persons responsible for the indication① Domestic fishery and open ocean products: Persons who produce and process, ship or sell fishery products,or keep or display the products for sale
② Imported fishery products such as traders or dealers, Retailers, wholesalers
