• Article 29 and 34 of the Fisheries Product Quality Control Act(Inspection of Fishery Product and Reinspection)
• Article 44 of the Enforcement Regulations of the aforementioned Act (Subject of Inspection)

SUBJECT OF INSPECTION

• Definition
  • "fish" includes finfish, crustaceans, molluscs, and other forms of aquatic animals intended for human consumption
  • "fishery product" means any edible human food product consisting in whole of fish or a product including fish that has been processed in cutting, heating, boiling, drying, salting, and brining with only salt.
• Compliance of Foreign Country Agreements

INSPECTION TYPES

STEP.1 Document Inspection

Document Inspection is to evaluate the submitted documents whether to meet the requirements below of the export regulations

① Harvested from a sea area approved by Article 22 of the Fisheries Product Quality Control Act

② Registered as export establishments in accordance with foreign country agreements(corresponding countries to export)and being taken an administrative measures

③ met the Facilities Sanitation Management Standard and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (approved establishments only)

④ Registered as the deep-sea fishing under Item 2, Clause 1, Article 41 of the Fisheries Act

STEP.2 Organoleptic inspection

Inspection is to evaluate qualities, labels, net weights, and etc of the fish and fishery products by visually examining, smelling or touching the lot of fish and fishery products

STEP.3 Precise Inspection

Inspection is to evaluate the products by physical, chemical or microbiological methods in a laboratory
