The officials at the Jungbu regional office were provided with a practical training on operating X-ray detector on April 3
and April 10, 2008.
Officials of quarantine & Inspection division, Livestock Products sanitation division, Chonan District, Pyeongtaek
District, and Cheongju District participated and learned entusiastically.
This X-ray detector is a special equipment that is used in detection of foreign matters in foodstuff. And it has been used
to detect SRM bones that might be originated from BSE-infected beef.
The quarantine inspection of imported US beef was temporarilly suspended since October 5, 2007 due to the detection of a piece of vertebral bone.
However, the Jungbu regional office made assureance doubly sure and be prepared for the resumption of US beef
imports.
