As one of follow-up measures of Animal Antimicrobial Resistance Council Meeting (6th March), NVRQS newly organized Animal Antimicrobial Resistance T/F team and had the first meeting on 26th March in NVRQS to shape the plan of Animal Antimicrobial Resistance Management.
Dr. Son, Seongwan, the Head of VMBD, leads Animal Antimicrobial Resistance T/F team in NVRQS and Dr. Lee, Kwangjick (Senior Researcher, VMBD) supports him as the primary secretary. There are two working groups; animal antimicrobial resistance monitoring, and risk analysis and its management. And Advisory Committee also organized by ten experts in Korea and abroad; Profs. Lee, Moonhan (SNU), Lee Kyungwon (Yonsei U.), Woo, Keonjo (Korea U.), Park Yongho (SNU), McEwen, Scott (Ontario U., Canada), Tamura Yukata (Rakuenkakuin Daikaku, Japan), Drs. Jung, Sukchan (NVRQS), Frank Aarestrup (National Food Institute, Denmark), and Mr. Lee, Inho (Global Network).
In 2008 Animal Antimicrobial Resistance T/F team will focus on gathering and distributing information on Animal Antimicrobial Resistance, analyzing faced issues, promoting communication and strengthening interrelationships among experts and stakeholders, making the roadmap on Animal Antimicrobial Resistance Management and planning the course of research projects on animal antimicrobial resistance. The T/F decided to work together experts in other institutions such as research institutes and professors and will have regular and special meetings by issues on animal antimicrobial resistance. All activities of T/F team will announce to all colleagues in NVRQS and report the Advisory Committee if it needs.
Science basis opinions and reports by the team expect guiding proper and suitable policies on animal antimicrobial resistance and supporting CODEX Working Group of Korean Government to respond CODEX Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Task Force on Anitimicrobial Resistance.
