The VMBD team and Korean vaccine manufacturers has agreed to the proposal of changing ISA 25 with
IMS 1313 or other adjuvants for improving the safety of swine vaccines at the meeting, June 19th, 2008.
The vaccine manufacturers had also reported some swine vaccines using adjuvant ISA 25 with the
problem of poor absorption and adverse reactions, such as abcess, granuloma, inflammation and high fever.
The VMBD team had found the adverse reactions on the injection site of target animals vaccinated with
adjuvant ISA 25 in bacth releasing test.
As part of the plan, the manufacturers are going to carry out target animal safety and efficacy test for the
experimental vaccines using new adjuvants and they will be reporting the test results to VMBD team until
September 30th, 2008.
